Police Region North is the largest region in terms of area. The region consists of the four northernmost counties in Sweden and is organized into four police areas: Jämtland, Norrbotten, Västerbotten, and Västernorrland, which are further divided into 12 local police areas. Additionally, there are three regional units: the operational unit, the intelligence unit, and the investigation unit, a regional office, and national departments represented in the region to support police operations.

Police Area Norrbotten is Sweden's largest and northernmost region and is one of the police areas in Region North. The geographical area spans 14 municipalities from Arvidsjaur in the south to Kiruna in the north.

Police Area Norrbotten is divided into four local police areas: Luleå/Boden, Northern Lapland, Piteå/Älvdal, and Eastern Norrbotten. At the police area level, there is also an investigation section, an intervention group, and a dog unit. Furthermore, there is a police area office.

The Local Police Area Luleå/Boden is part of Police Area Norrbotten. Within the local police area, there are intervention and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, as well as support and service.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a service man, you will work independently with broad and varied tasks, both practical and administrative. You will work with office services such as mail and goods handling, purchasing of goods and services, ordering and replenishing materials, and managing inventory and access rights. The job also includes car washing and simpler workshop tasks.

There may also be tasks such as local service and participation in minor moves, assembly, setting up furniture, notice boards, and locks, minor repairs, and other common janitorial tasks.

The work involves varied tasks and can be both fast-paced and physically demanding in terms of heavy lifting. You who apply should be prepared to assist with many different tasks throughout the police area. Travel within the county occurs, and travel to other police regions may also be relevant.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Driver's license B manual car.
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing
  • Good computer skills and ability to understand new systems

We consider it an advantage if you also have:

  • Driver's license BE, C, or extended B license, B96
  • Relevant experience working as a janitor or equivalent tasks (let them describe in the selection)
  • Current experience with simple vehicle repairs (let them describe in the selection, write down 5 years)
  • Relevant experience in service as assessed by the employer (let them describe in the selection).

As an employee, you are the face of the police and are expected to work based on commitment, availability, and efficiency, which requires:

  • the ability to work at a varying pace without affecting accuracy or customer service
  • a service-oriented and flexible approach
  • good collaboration skills
  • social competence as the work is outward-facing with daily contact with people
